Fifteen runners for Switzerland, 6706 metres, on the hour. Not in the corral at the bell and you are out. Loop not finished inside sixty minutes and you are out. The country with the most completed loops wins.
6706
Metres
The loop. Out and back along the Lorze, gravel and concrete, about 30 metres of climb. The same one every time.
60
Minutes
That is all there is. Run the loop in fifty and you get ten minutes to eat, change and sit down.
15
Runners
No categories, no age groups, no separate fields. Everyone starts the same loop at the same second.
Speed does not score. Every loop any of the fifteen finishes is one point for Switzerland.

Add up the fifteen qualifying results and you get 557 loops. The 2024 team scored 501. At every one of the fifteen positions, this year’s qualifying number is equal to or higher than the 2024 result at the same position. Qualifying is not a race day, but it is the only number there is.

Backyard
Participants must be inside the corral at the bell.
All competitors must start at the bell. No late starts.
Except for restroom breaks a competitor cannot leave the course until the yard is complete.
No non-competitors may accompany active entrants on the course, including eliminated runners.
Whatever you bring with you on the loop, you have to return with. Clothes, flasks, crockery, everything.
No personal aid during a yard.
Keeping lap times is optional.
Teamwork
When someone forgets their bib, remind them it is not important.
When someone can't continue, help them walk. We are allowed to help each other on the course, and each person completing one loop is one point.
When it appears someone gets paced, send the pacer away. Remind them the runner can get disqualified.
When someone forgets their headlamp, offer them to run with you or remind them they can use their phone.
Germany finished ahead of Switzerland every time, Austria behind every time.
